llow me to introduce myself, my name is Manfred Herrmann. Being Hamburg-born, I grew up in a beautiful town called Bad Malente in Schleswig-Holstein. Already at the age of eight I started vaulting, followed by riding at the age of twelve. Early on, my father, who has been enthusiastic about horses and has worked as an amateur riding-instructor, pushed me towards many riding successes which range up to national championships. After completing my apprenticeship at the Trakehner stud HOHENSCHMARK, I passed the rider’s test with distinction and changed to the dressage stable of Karin Walter Hahn in the Odenwald.

At the age of 22, I set up my own business. Two years later, I passed the examination for the master’s certificate of instructor and instructor FN. Since then I train riders, horses and apprentices up to the highest grade. Personally, I achieved numerous victories and rankings in dressage tests (grade M and S). Afterwards, I recorded Grand Prix rankings and successes at the Hesse championships as well as at the professional championships. The Golden Badge, the awarding of the Silver Badge of Honor by the German Equestrian Federation (FN) and several Stensbeck badges of my apprentices for outstanding performances, top the successes of my equestrian career off.
Since 1989, my wife and I run the equestrian centre “An der Nassburg” (www.reitsport-herrmann.de) in Nidderau Heldenbergen. Within these optimal surroundings, I am perfectly able to take care of the riders’ and horses’ training. In the meantime, we have the support of our son Jan who follows in my footsteps. He already started his professional career and until now achieved victories up to St. Georges. I have always regarded the horse as an individual during its training, true to the motto:
“Nich immer hett dat Peerd de Schuld, wenn`s nich so geiht as du dat wult”,
which literally means that it is not always the horse’s fault, when it does not move like you want it to.
